Volunteers are the heart of every local Little League organization. Everyone from the league president down to the concession stand worker is unpaid for their hard work. One of the hardest volunteers to recruit is the game umpires. ASWLL is fortunate to have some of the best volunteer umpires around. These men and women spend many nights away from friends and family to help ensure that our kids get the best baseball experience possible. While at times it can be a thankless job, it offers many more rewards.
We are always looking for more people to join our volunteer crew. If you have any interest in working with a great group of people, helping our kids have a great time, and watching a baseball game from the best seat in the house, please let me know. It is up to you in regards to how many games you want to do and at what level. We also have many great, knowledgeable umpires that will help with training. We will not just “throw you out there” to umpire a game without at least the basics and working with a trained umpire.
